Teens just ask
This section of this microsite gives you information about your rights under the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) and the Special Education Needs and Disability (Northern Ireland) Order (SENDO). You may have heard them mentioned or maybe you have not heard about them at all.
You do not consider yourself disabled - you have been diagnosed with cancer not a disability. The DDA offers protection to people with long term health conditions and disabilities from discrimination. The definition of disability in DDA law changed to include people who have been diagnosed with cancer.
The DDA and SENDO give you rights not to be treated unfairly in employment, education, and when accessing services because of your disability.
Check out your rights or contact the Equality Commission for NI for advice and information.
