Group Insurance

Information

There are special rules affecting providers of services to the public in respect of insurance services. The Disability Discrimination (NI) Order 2006 (DDO) clarifies that people who provide group insurance to an employer’s employees are covered by Part 3 (goods, facilities, services and premises provisions) of the DDA.

An employer who discriminates against employees  under a group insurance scheme is covered under Part 2 (employment provisions) of the DDA.
